A Day of Art
When the weather is less than perfect, a great way to spend the day is by visiting an art museum. There are two art museums in Ogunquit Maine that we would like to share with you.
The Ogunquit Museum of American Art – Find an array of techniques and artistic movements by visiting the Ogunquit Museum of American Art. You will find wonderful exhibits with unique art and catch a glimpse into artists minds by viewing their work. You will find art from all over the world, as well as our beautiful coastal home on display for visitors to enjoy.
The Barn Gallery is within a 5-10 min walk of the Inn. Since the late 1800’s, Ogunquit has attracted an eclectic variety of artists, all of whom helped create a richly textured art colony and a place to live and paint. Juried members of the Ogunquit Art Association (Maine’s original artists’ group) host their creations, offer gallery talks and panel discussions and so much more. The 2019 Season runs from May 22 through October 14. Don’t miss the 68th OAA Art Auction on August 4, 2019 – the largest art auction in Ogunquit and always one of the high points of the seacoast region’s cultural season.

Catch a Show
For those that are looking for something fun to do and experience phenomenal entertainment, catch a show at the Ogunquit Playhouse. Since 1933, the Ogunquit Playhouse has hosted incredible theatrical and musical productions for all to enjoy. Surrounded by rich history, this Ogunquit hub brings a bit of Broadway to our beautiful coastal community. Shows like the classic “Kinky Boots” and “West Side Story,” the playhouse has received numerous recognitions for their Broadway-caliber productions and make this stop one of our favorite Ogunquit Maine must-sees!
Delightful Tasty Treats
If you have a sweet tooth, there is one delightful place that you won’t want to miss during your visit. Rain or shine, the Harbor Candy Shop is sure to sweeten your day with an array of delicious treats that will have your taste buds singing. From artisan chocolates to mouthwatering caramels and truffles, it is hard to resist the temptations of this candy shop’s creations.
